Dear Parents and Carers,
It has now been two full weeks in school since we closed to the majority of pupils. Although we have now entered the two week period that was originally calendared as our Easter break, the Academy continues to remain open serving a small number of children of key workers. To many people, the two weeks which would have been the Easter break will seem very similar to the last two weeks, and it is easy to lose track of the passing of days and weeks when the familiar things that accompany our regular routine are no longer there.
I am pleased to report that the vast majority of our students have approached the challenge of working from home with positivity and enthusiasm. Our staff have done a remarkable job to set up a way of working that allows learning to continue as much as possible while our Academy is physically closed, and our students, supported by the families, have responded remarkably well. Thank you for your role in supporting this, I appreciate it will not have been easy at times!
I ask that you please encourage your child to continue, after the Easter period, to regularly log-on and check ‘Show My Homework’ and that you please regularly check our Academy website, our Twitter and Facebook pages and your emails, as these remain crucial channels for communication.
Aside from everything else, it is important to mark the fact that the Easter period is a very important time in the spiritual lives of many of our students and their families, and that this is a time when many people have found that their religious faith has acquired even greater importance. To those families, I would like to wish you a happy and holy Easter week, and to all of our students and their families, I hope that you have a safe, happy and restful couple of weeks.
These are extraordinary times and your children are extraordinary young people and we look forward to welcoming them back to Arnold Hill when the time comes.
