As you may be aware the government released an update on Friday regarding the cancellation to examinations in 2020 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and its impact on the education system, and the country, for months to come.
In summary, it stated that all exam boards are currently working closely with OFQUAL to develop a fair and robust process to provide all pupils with a calculated grade that takes into account a broad range of evidence. This evidence will include teacher assessment and prior attainment information.
Once confirmed we will ensure to update you with the relevant information so that you are aware of the process to be followed to award grades as well as the proposed dates for the release of grades at Key Stage 4 and 5. We do ask in the interim that pupils keep any examples of work they have at home e.g. unfinished coursework, in a secure place that is easily accessible. Please do not attempt to bring any pieces of work into school during the coming weeks unless requested to do so by a member of school staff. If such a need arises we will have plans in place to reduce the need for unnecessary congregation in keeping with the current social distancing rules, in line with government advice.
Please don’t email questions about exam grades into staff at the Academy as the staff effort is presently directed into provision at school for children of key workers and providing on-going, quality remote learning for the remainder of students. We will, of course, update you in time when there are new updates.
